Well my POPO finally let me down last week I went and volunteered with the local club and when I went to start no go towed out by a Honda . Turns out it broke the flywheel key thus no spark no go it was a $6 buck part but I was not impressed to say the least . I went back again this week the Honda guy was just smiling . Is this a normal part that breaks ?
Sorry about your trouble but I don't think it's a common problem. I'm no mechanic by any means, but I read ALOT and don't remember ever seeing the problem before.....

sounds like the flywheel nut wasnt torqued when it was last removed. flywheel key only shears if a backfire occurs (has to be pretty strong) or if the nut is loose and the flywheel works itself loose so the crank spins faster than the flywheel causing the key to shear.

sounds like the flywheel nut wasnt torqued when it was last removed. flywheel key only shears if a backfire occurs (has to be pretty strong) or if the nut is loose and the flywheel works itself loose so the crank spins faster than the flywheel causing the key to shear.
I agree onlyway is if flywheel nut was not torqued/loose....
