Default sportsman: locking the front storage box?

I would like to be able to lock the factory front storage box. Is there some sort of lock available that works with the factory latches?

Mike

This has been discussed earlier. I have done it on my 800. The parts come from ATP.

My bike are an EU spec road legal one. Rebuilt by Polaris/Egimotors in Italy. It got different front lights, brakes, horn, mirrors and direction indicators. (blinkers)

The part number that's been given is what you need to get to start. You will be using parts from the ATP locks and parts from the Sportsman latches that are on the existing box. If I remember the ATP parts you use are only the knobs and lock barrel. The cylinder that goes through the lid of the box is going to be the existing one. It will have to shortened by about an 1/8th inch or so. The hooks are from the Sporstman. You have to see where the ATP lock pins will hit the old Sportsman cylinder and drill a hole so the pin can go into it to lock it. After that it is just putting it all back together. This is the best my old memory can help you right now. Hope it all works for you.

I never did any shortening or drillig on mine. Used the Sportsman hooks and the ATP knob and barrel. Used the rubber gasket on the inside and outside on both sides. (4 in total) Se link w/pic.
