I've heard many horror stories about the extreme winches, IMO steer clear of them

I have had good luck with my Viper Max 3000# with amsteel blue rope. I had a 08 800 Touring and it has pulled my bike out of headlight deep quicksand. I bought it off the motoalliance ..com website shipped for under $250. That included winch, Rope, mounting brackets, and wired remote. I have had mine and used it a few times in the past 3 months with good results.

Warn 3000, Synthetic Rope and Wireless Remote.
That's what I would get and will, the next time I need to buy one!
