Default Scrambler grinds when shifting into gear.

2010 Scrambler brand new. When shifting from neutral into reverse or into high gear there is some grinding every time. Not too bad, but it shouldn't happen.

How can I adjust the shifter so this doesn't happen?

Thanks

Are the rpms at idle speed when this happens? That's my first thought.

And I guess asking what the idle rpms would help too.

I have installed a tach and the idle rpm is 1300. The manual says 1350 is the factory setting.

OPT will probably have the best advice. Don't think I had any of mine set that high, but if that's what the manual calls for I wouldn't argue it.

Lower the idle to 1050-1150 rpms and see if helps on the engagement(1350 rpms a little too high). Also make sure the little spring wire holding the idle adjustment cable under the carb hasn't broken(common thing that happens on this carb and adjuster will just lay on starter area and vibrate and alter idling speed also) PLUS on this carb I would use a little anti seize on the adjuster threads. Water/dirt will corrode the threads. Just from what I've experienced. OPT
