hey there i have a 08 800 and have a leaking cv boot .it is leaking under the small band.i can turn the bottom of the boot a little bit back and forth.so i was wondering should i just reband the small one tighter .or should i take both off slide the boot down clean out and regrease and reband.i really dont want to take the axle out just do it on the machine can this be done? thanks for the help.

As long as you have not been in any water you should be OK with just rebanding. Iy you have been in water be sure to take apart, clean, regrease and install new boot and clamps. I recomend the stock boot because they are much easier because they fit better and have better clamps.

well only you can really tell if you have been in any water/mud or not. if theres any doubt what so ever, do your self a favor and TAKE IT APART and regrease it! its way cheaper then replacing the cv joint when the dirt/water ruins the cv joint. imo.

Ditto! Save yourself some heartache and make sure it is cleaned/regreased.
