Default X2 500 Tips for riding on the sand??

Never did any riding on the sand. Going to be doing some surf fishing and could use some info so I don't get stuck.

Tire pressure any changes?
I know enough to keep away from the waters edge.
I know there will be several areas of soft sand.

All information appreciated.

I haven't rode my quad much in the sand but i have rode a dirt bike in the sand quite a bit. The basic principles should be about the same, Medium to low tire air pressure, keep speed up to stay on top, and keep a firm grip on the handle bars so the sand doesn't grab the front tires and turn you when you don't want to turn!
Other than that, go like hell and have fun! LOL!

lowest tire pressure for sure and steady throttle and leave it in awd at least when trying to take off to prevent wheel spin. imo.

Have some sand pits at Hopkinton/Everett where we ride sometimes. X2 stays on top of the soft sand very well and goes great in 2wd. I think the only way the sand would stop you is if you tried to rail up a long steep sand dune. I've never even come near getting stuck in sand even at 5 psi all around. Just don't dig holes and you'll be fine. Ride around in 2wd and if you are almost stuck stick it in AWD to get through.
