Yes that's the trans dipstick. Use 20/50 engine oil, or another fairly thick alternative. 15/40, 10/50, straight 40 or 50, etc.

If it's low because of a leak, put in 85/90 gear oil as a band-aid fix.

This is likely to be a hot topic & many people get all crazy over what oil to use in the tranny. The thing of it is, these are the same type of chaincases found on snowmobiles & depending on manufacturer recommended oil viscositys vary from 30w to 90w.

There is nothing magic about "chaincase oil". It's not some secret voodoo.

It sounds also like you may have overtightened the chain. If you didn't need to push the button before, but you do after adjusting your chain, then it is most likely binding on the chain. Check the chain slack both with a rider sitting on the seat and with nothing on the seat. Be sure to have at least 3/4" - 1" slack in the middle of the chain at its tightest point (which is typically with a rider on it - sitting as far back as possible).

FYI - It is ALWAYS better to have a chain that is too loose than too tight. A tight chain can destroy output bearings, ruin an output shaft seal and cause it to leak.

Also, The yellow button is to keep you from going too fast in reverse. For me, I always push mine when backing up because it is so sensitive that I can't hardly move without it (Has been this way since new).

WHOAH!!!!!! that's NOT a radiator. It's an oil cooler. Don't even think of putting water in it.

Actually, you won't even be able to. Good luck finding a cap to take off.

Good catch catman! I assumed it was liquid cooled like my 400.

The lack of a cap would indeed make it hard to fill...
