Default bad stator

I also have a 2006 polaris 450 same problem first the starter then the ecm and know the stator shorted and its over charging so i fryed the new ecm.i am a tech at a ford dealer so i did some reserch it turns out that when the stator shorts out the system then puts out 18volts when it shoulkd be around 13.5 volts when this happens it fries the ecm wich in turn retards the timming causing it too back fire which in time burns out the starter.the dealer wants $1100 to repaire bike that has 400 miles on it.i think if there were enough people to call polaris maybe they would recall them.until then i'll never own anthore polaris its a piec of junk!!!!!!!!
