How do you do the reverse override in a 2008 sp800 & where on the quad is it done? I have been searching for more detailed info without any luck. Any pics would be great also. Thanks, Thor

 

not sure if I am understanding your question but if you are talking about engaging the 4x4 when in reverse or getting more speed there is a yellow over ride button that would be near the handgrip on your left hand. Press and hold the button and give it some throtle. Sorry if this is not what you mean.

i know theres a kit out there for that. but your still gona need a switch. just becuse the yellow swich also is used for toggling though the efi codes mode, clock settings, and other things. and splinging into those wires to permnatly will not allow you to do things, and might screwup somethings. but thats my thoughts.

 

yes there is kits out there or you can do it your self using a switch to toggle between the overide bypass, and still keeping your scroll feature. you can not use the scroll feature while in reverse either way. quadovator makes a kit for the bypass.

 

To do it myself where is the override wire & what color is it? Anyone have pics that they can post of how its done?

 

sorry to say i had pics. of it all at one time but deleted them. you do need to add a switch to have it work though and if i remember right you use the plug end w/ the 4 wires that goes to the overide switch(there is 2 differrnt harnesses) and i think(im guessing w/out tearing mine apart as i did it under the pod so you cant see it) that one wire is the grey/orange wire and maybe the black one as well. either way, 2 wires go to the override side and the other 2 are for the scrolling thru the dianostic mode. hopefully someone who has done it will correct me as i did it 3 years ago.

 

I ordered the kit from quadovader just to be safe & it comes with a switch. Thanks. I will post info when I get it.

 

looks to be brown from pin C on the plug goes in to the switch. when the switch isent pushed it connects with red/black pin A. but if you push the yellow button it will switch to gray/orange pin B. so your gona have to add 3 wires. brown, gray/orange, and red/black. your gona need a single pole switch with 3 pins. like a hand warmer switch, but with no center off. and wire red/black to brown. and to go fast in reverse you need to flip the switch so gray/orange connects with brown. i can make a diagram if needed..

you only need 2 wires out of the 4 to make it work w/ an on and off switch. the mode switch wont work anyways while in reverse. at leaste this is the ay mine is set up.
