Default Swaybar mod to fit 11's on the rear of an XP

Most of you know the XP won't clear an 11" tire on the rear mounted on stock tires due to the sway bar...some have added spacers, and at least one guy trimmed the edge of the lip of the sway bar off....I took a different approach..no spacer or cutting...
I mentioned the idea awhile back of bending the sway bar a little...that is what I did...you can't even tell it is bent by looking...the angle of the link varies so much during suspension travel that the slight bend won't hurt a thing..
I also bent the edge of the sway bar end in a little..it is stamped steel and the edge protruded so I rolled it in..if by some miracle it did ever contact the tire it would not cut it..but I highly doubt it ever will...
I'm not real crazy about the look of the wheels..but I can live with them until something better looking with a similar offset comes along..

Nice again HO! I was thinking the same thing... can't see any ill effect from bending the bar... it's just a sway bar. I'm really glad you tried this. Now a lot people (maybe someday including me LOL) can opt for better set of skins without having to buy new wheels.

P.S. It's probably just something on my glasses, but I swear I see a little dirt on that bike. LOL LOL LOL

Nope that is definitely dirt...sorry I didn't clean it before the pics..lol
How do you like that NC blue/green mud that almost stains the tires? it comes off but not easily.. I've never seen anything like it before I moved here..

LOL... you must have been in a hurry to get the pics up, or it never would have looked like that.

You know when you are a person that takes care of your equipment when people actually notice dirt on it and "comment" about it. LOL

Anyhow, back to the topic... does it handle/steer better now with the stock wheels back on there?

The steering is noticable lighter..and the kick back is less....that only makes sense though right?

Absolutely!

I know you'll be watching that sway bar to see if tries to return to it's original bend.

Yes I will..but honestly even if it did straigthen back some I doubt it would ever cause a problem..especially since I rolled the edge...where it would hit is on the tread just to the outside diameter of the side wall...and it could only possibly hit at full extension and then only lightly...I probably could have gotten away with just rolling the edge...the bending was extra insurance..
