Default 10,000 mile up-date

I just hit the 10,000 mile mark on my 2008 500 HO and though I'd post a list of things done over that time .

13 full fluid changes ( oil, filter, front diff ,tranny ) Screen never cleaned
2 new spark plugs installed ( no problems just thought they should be changed )
Installed new rear pads ( 3652 miles)
Adjusted valves twice ( 4098 miles , 8932 miles )
Installed new flywheel key
Installed new prop shaft ( u-joints worn 4098 miles)
Installed new clutch buttons ( 4098 miles)
Installed new rear wheel bearing ( 7714 miles )
Installed greaseable u-joints in prop shaft ( 9865 miles)
Installed new ball joints ( 9865 miles )
Installed new front wheel bearing ( 9865 miles )
Plus over that time a few new air filters , pre-filters & fuel filters & greased

Overall it's mostly standard maintenance , motor runs great , carb never been off or touched , never a 4x4 problem , all original cv joints and boots, I could not of asked for a more trustworthy reliable machine fingers crossed for another 10,000 miles .

If all my customers up keep on their atvs was like this,I would had to retire sooner!! Congrats on the mileage! Especially on the oil tank screen, doesn't have to be touched with regular maintenance! Post these stats elsewhere too!! Congrats! OPT

Great stuff. I've only got about 2900 or so on mine but it's running like a charm, despite my abuse.

I had a 06 sp500 and sold it for an 05 Brute 750. Big mistake. All the Brute has going for it is tons of power. Thats it.now have my Brute for sale and will be buying another 500 or maybe a 700 or 800.

I removed the original 489's around 3000 miles ( after first season) and installed ITP Terracross XD . Those tires are still on it and still look good so two sets .

BETTER tire mileage than one of my young techs got on his Mustang GT!!
Of course he had to burn out from the shop every day when leaving!! OPT

I,m at 4000 miles now, everything runs great but I will get the valve adjusted and clutch buttons looked at. It must be time by now if not a little over due.

My dad has over 7000 miles on his 97 SP500 ,but he is a mellow around the yard type of rider.

My valves at 8900 were almost dead on specs I'll adjust them maybe at 15,000 or so . Great seeing you and your dad with some nice mileage numbers there great machines just needing simple maintenance . I figure I'll do another 2500 plus miles this summer already have done over 1000 this year Nice sledding in your area my 1200 what's up there bad
