Default CODE 41 & 46

I am getting code 41 & 46 coming in. It is a 2008 SP800. This is for Air temp Sensor high voltage and Barometric Pressure sensor high. I checked the connector and wiring for visible damage at the Air Temp/ Barometric sensor on the air intake and everything looks good. Traced the wires to see if I had a grounding problem. Could find nothing. I removed the main fuses to reset the ECM and the same two codes keep coming back. The atv sputters at low rpm sometimes. Any other suggestions on things to check???? Other than replacing the sensor ( anyone know how much these are off hand??) Thanks for your help.

Cheers
GAS

Default CODE 41 & 46

If 5 volts going to MAF sensor harness connector(voltmeter connections at orange(red lead),frame ground or battery black lead) and air temp sensor in air box clean,no shorts in wiring,MAY JUST to be reflashed. Codes NOT always positive on speedo, but most of the problems I've found are shorts and have to be reflashed, only a couple sensors have been bad,BUT with efi anything possible. I posted earlier about a 500 that we hooked up and said to disconnect tps sensor connector,THEN said wiggle wires then said that problem solved and to HOOK BACK UP! STRANGE,but true! Can also check MAF sensor o-ring,if damaged, not sealing properly, can cause problems similar to tps malfuntion also. IF all fails let dealer hook up and find source of problem. New EFI machines getting harder for do it yourselfers.

Thanks tech. I checked and 5 volts is present at the connector on the orange wire. I checked all 4 wires to ground from the connector and all seemed good. I found that purple and blue wires seemed shorted, zero ohms. Is this normal??? THat reading was taken with the connector at the sensor disconnected.

Can jump further into harness on purple and blue, splice 2 new wires, about 2 inches below connector and see if helps. If shows 0 ohms as you say then should be NO continuity and SHOULD be good, but if fluctuates try above wire jump. MAY just need harness repair kit.

Ok thanks alot i would really apreciate that G.A.S. my closest dealer is an hour away, where i bought it from. and they want 70 dollars an hour minimum of 2 hours to run diagnostics with a 25 dollar diagnosis charge, Then all the parts and sservice fees im lookin at about 500 dollars. I'm only 16 and need to pay for car insurance instead so i would really apreciate that thanks.

If they have a diagnosis charge on top of the hourly rate for running diagnostics then they're charging you twice for the same thing. I think they're trying to screw you. Good luck to both of you guys.

Hey ATV55 not sure if i will take it in just yet. Came back from a 3 hour ride and no problems. The code is still in but it runs fine, even at low RPM. My dealer is an hour away too so I am reluctant to bring it in if I can still ride it.
