How often do YOU change your oil..?
So far I have just bought all my oil change kits from Polaris (used to be 3 quarts they
gave ya, no 2 quarts for the same price) 2 quarts w\filter for about $25.00 bucks.
I stick with the MFG. recommendations on this one that way if/when there is an
engine problem they can't say I didn't run their oil (Or oil type).

I would say it is your choice.
I don't have lots of experience with popos but in all my other equipment, especially break in. I watched my oil color and kind kept in mind the service I had been putting it through.
On my 800 bought in winter, the oil stayed "natural" in color until around 50 hrs(dealer recommendation). I was using it a lot, but it all was in cold winter/snow plowing weather.
The 500 was a different story, bought it this spring as things were starting to dry out. Momma rode it bunches as the property was drying out I started noticing dust etc. around that time I noticed her oil was starting to change a little darker in color, so it got first change at 25 hrs(Dealer still recomeneded 50hrs) She has around 75 on hers now and oil is still pretty much as it came out of the bottle.

Once in spring and once in autumn I have the dealer check all fluids with the oil change. They call it a Fall Check-Up. I guess that's for people getting ready for dear season. They use Polaris oil and filters, and I never had an engine problem.
