Default New wheels on my Hawkeye

12x5 seems kinda small for the front rims. i have 25" mudlites on and its not the fron that an isue as its the backs that hit the outside of the fenders. thats the biggest that can go on the sp 400 for sure.

That's what the factory front rims measure, 12X5, not the 12X7 Polaris says comes on the Hawkeye. That is why the rim lip, and the sidewall are about even on the front now with the Douglas 12X7's. I just know the first rock I come up on will bang up the rim lip.

I will switch a rear onto the front to see if there will be any clearence issues. I did a quick measurement the other evening and it appears the tires will not rub on the front struts... at least sitting still. Bumps might be another thing though.

If a 10" wide Swamp Fox tire will work on the front it will really improve the looks of the Hawkeye.

I switched a rear to the front and yes it will fit. The inside sidewall is about 1/2" closer to the strut than the 12X8 tire on there now.

Are there any other clearence issues with a 10" tire on the front? I turned the handlebars both ways and I can't see any. As the strut compresses does the tire get closer to it? In other words, does camber change? It shouldn't should it? Do you think there be any extra driveline stress to worry about running a 10" tire on the front?

if you do a search you can see mine w/ my 27" xtr's on it but they were rubbing pretty and you couldnt ride it that way. they are 9" wide and didnt have any clearance issues.
