I may be mistatken but I think you can get one of those cheap fancy ones from the auto parts store. I did a seach once before about the issue and one of the guys had a chrome snake head on his.

You should be able to order on online, but I'd say it's cheaper to do like atv gooroo said, and just go to a local auto parts store.

Less money, and it's now a custom machine.

you can get one for free at your local pool hall, if you're careful. after acquiring the shifter ****, wrap the sides in duct tape and drill the appropriately sized hole in the bottom with a sharp wood boring drill bit (the **** is most likely made of hardened acrylic and is not as difficult to drill into as you think). test fit it, then secure it with epoxy....snazzy and your out cheap.

I had a fake 7-ball in my 6x6 army truck. I found a burgundy red shifter **** the size of a pool ball, put it on and used spray paint for the white circle and number. I had to make it a 7 because it was dark red. I wish it was black so I could make an 8-ball. It didn't even fit that truck. The hole was too big for the shaft, so I wrapped a piece of wire around the threads on the shaft, then screwed it on. It was a perfect fit. I painted it after I screwed it on so the 7 was facing the right way. You can make any ball fit any shaft. Even if you fill it with epoxy and glue it on.

I'm glad you got it fixed. You really would want to hit that steel shaft in an accident. Believe me, the **** hurts bad enough.
