Does it have ETC. A tech told me if it is malfunctioning it would shut the spark off.

Other than your cracked magnet, Always try a new spark plug first. My neighbor's Banshee doesn't like old plugs. They look fine and will fire most of the time when they are out, but will not fire properly when installed. Drop in new plugs and it runs perfect.

I had that issue once on my Sport 400 when I was running a Split fire plug (I know, I know, they suck). It was running fine, then started running really rough for a few seconds and just stopped. I pulled the plug and it looked great. I replaced the plug with an NGK and haven't had a problem since.
