predator start/light switch
I have an 03 predator and I m trying to find a short in the handlebar wiring. Need some help. If I move the wire going into the switch the bike will start and run. How can i determine if it is the switch or the wiring harness. I have checked the plug it is a little lose but seems to click into place. I have sprayed wd-40 on the conection to clean it up.
any suggestions. I dont want to spent 60 dollars on a new switch or 253 for anew harness.

I would try to make a jumper from one side of the switch to the other (pretty much making the switch constantly on)..you could do the same with the harness...try to put a jumper wire from one side of the harness to the other.. do one at a time to try and determine where your problem is. with the jumper wire, you are insuring that you are getting power accross

and if the harness is the problem, i would simply just find the wire/wires that are the problem, pull them out of the harness and make some splices between the two..yea its somewhat riggin it, but you can buy some splice connectors at your closest auto/parts store for like 2-5 bucks. id rather pay that than 253 dollars for a harness. same with the switch...there are many types of switches at your auto parts store ranging from 5-15 bucks..there are many ways to make something work..
