Default What do you guys take when you go out riding??

I'm driving 6-7 hours south/southeast to go on a four day ride. Last year, on the same ride, I ripped a CV boot (luckly only the boot cause the CV was popping the whole way back to camp) and I had to drive another hour plus to get to a polaris dealership to buy another boot. So, this year, I am trying to put together a list of things to bring just in cause something bad happens. What does everybody pack as backup parts? Personally, I am thinking about the following:

1. Change of oil and filter
2. Extra belt
3. Extra CV boot

What do you guys think?

I will definatly be bringing the necessaties, ie food, beer, water, beer, quad, beer, gas etc. My question is for the guys that ride hard and bring the spare parts/tools to support that kind of riding.

Like in Nascar - a backup ATV....
Bring everything that you think that you may need including the 'kitchen sink' if it will fit.
Either that be extra careful and don't push your luck, things just don't break without a reason. People break things. Try to avoid the reasons - for example try not to drive over nails - be extra careful. Drive it like you need it to get home and not like you just stole it. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Definately, a tire plug kit ($4/cheap one)/Air compressor it saved me on just a 22 mile rocky trail in mountains, side
wall tear, and plugged it no problem did plenty of more riding. Duct tape for CV boots, I hear is good to
have, change of clothes (if weather issues and plan Mudding or water holes/crossing), TOW STRAP (great for
pulling out others or have someone pull you out), cell phone, GPS if cutting new trails with no markings,
packaged food and water, tools.

Helmet, goggles, gloves, boots, long pants/shirt all goes without saying!

Regards,

R'

I love the "Nascar - bring a backup" line. If only I could. Maybe next year.

And what about this "extra careful"??? WHO DOES THAT? If you want to be extra careful, buy a golf cart! I go to ride. I ride hard. Things break. It happens. Thats why I bought the Popo, so I won't happen often. IMO.

All good ideas, Thanks! I had not thought to bring rachet straps. So, here is my list (keep in mind I am driving 300 miles for four days):

Quad
Beer
Cash
oh Ice for the beer
and Cooler for the ice
Bungee to hold the cooler down
Oil
Oil Filter
CV Boot
Belt
Antifreeze
Gas can
Ratchet strap
Tow strap (for the other guy
Tire patch kit
Air compressor
Zip ties
Duct tape ( between the zip ties and duct tape, I should be good to go for anything)

I think that should be about it...
