Well the first thing is what kind of riding do you plan on doing? That is fairly important.
And the best advice I can give is to go to the dealers, talk to them and see about test drives. It really sucks if you buy a bike from a place that you can't stand to grace the doors. Ask lots of questions.
Test drive all the bikes you are remotely interested in and get a feel for them. Don't buy a bike that someone else says to buy. Make your own decisions. All bike have their own Pros and Cons.
There, I don't think I helped your decision at all LOL but some tips before the bike bashing begins. (Cause you know it's gonna happen)

scammys right about the bashing and making your own decision about what you like. now that being said, the outty is faster then the sports. and the sports. is heavy (which i think gives a better ride) then outty. if your going to put biger tires on it then the sport 80 is the way to go as from what ive read and heard there is an isue w/ putting oversize tires on the outty 800 making the 4x4 not work correctly. theres no question that the outty s power to weight ratio is better then the pol.800. i have a customer of mine that has an outty 06' 800 that has been in the shop 7 times this past fall/winter. they have had to replace the charging sytem and the entire wiring harness as well to add another battery for plowing. i know he said his plow is all cracked up but cant remeber about the frame if any. some people say there having trouble w/ the front ends on the pol. 800, i my self havent and have beat on my bike.

They came out with the sp twin platform in 2002 with the sportman 700. It was ATV of the year for 2002 and this platform has led to the sp 700, sp 600, sp 700 EFI, and sp 800 EFI. The 2007 sp 800 is the 7th production year of the twin platform and the 3rd year of the 800. Its a proven platform and I believe the 2007 delux is the best yet. I know the outlander platform came out in 2003 with the 400 and it was ATV of the year for 2003. I think they now have a 400, 500, 650, and 800 with the platform not to mention the MAX. Its also proven chassi with good points. Just an openion, but I love my sp 800. Put mudlite XTRs on in 27" and Its faster than it was with stockers. Does 65mph easy and is fun to ride even at over 750lbs.
