to put the new bearing on the balancer use a deep socket that will fit the inside race of the bearing and tap it on.make sure you oil the shaft first.to get the small bearing out of the block you need a bearing puller.make sure you mark the spot on the shaft where your gear goes on to keep them in time with the dots on them.

first look for the dot on the gear, mark it with a file or grinder lightly on both sides of the teeth.the draw a line using a straight edg or small square down the gear and across the bearing to the balancer shaft.this will guide you in reinstalling the gear in its proper place.when that is donetap the gear lightly to remove it.it should come off fairly easy,if not you may need to get a gear puller to take it off,BE EXSTREAMLY CAREFUL NOT TO BEND THE SMALL WATERPUMPSHAFT AT ALL.after you get the gear off tap the bearing with a ballpean hammer on the sides and it will come off.be sure to check the shaft for wear or pitting if you plan to reuse it.

I don't want an arguement on this topic , I almost didn't reply .
As a hammer owner and having done many bearing replacements on balancers I have never used a hammer in any way on a balancer . Using a gear puller on the gear also scares me . The center bolt is very fragile , I learned this the hard way .
To remove the blind hole bearing a toaster oven works great . They will fall right out .
