One Mans Phoenix 200 Nightmare
MojaveMark,
I'm using the CR6HSA that Polaris recommended to help with the cold starting problem. Then I closed the gap (per: Rick Ritter) until the machine starts properly. It turned out to be about 17 thousandths.
Z250 Rider,
With all due respect, I think with my previous comment "We still like the Phoenix. I'm just fed up with Polaris not standing behind me after I bought a first year product from them". Its pretty clear that I'm not bashing the Phoenix and I beleive that Polaris builds some great products. My problem is that when I bought one of their "first year" products and had a cronic problem with it, they tried to sidestep the issues until the warranty ran out.

2005 polaris phoenix
Im trying to fix this thing and iv'e followed the troubleshooting in the service manual. I cannot get spark after a new pulser new cdi tried several good coils. Is it the stator? tried the plug gap trick, bypass etc trick. dont have a wiring diagram for the 05 and noticed some differences between whats in the 06 service manual i downloaded. i havent found a 05 service manual to download. This thing is driving me crazy and im gonna get violent with it. Whats the stator testing procedure. oh i also put a new regulator rectifier and a new battery in it. Is there something switch wise or effing safety gadjet wise that im missing to get spark? This thing consumes way too much time i only want to know what is neccesary for its spark.

Sounds like you're throwing a lot of parts at it. No free manuals, but here's one for 5 bucks that can help you on stator tests,etc.2005 Polaris Phoenix 200 Service Manual PDF Download

Yep it's from Taiwan, but you'd be cussing more if came from mainland China. Just look over in their section at all their problems.

Polaris customer service is by far the worst i've encountered, i do believe thats where the bulk of complaints are coming from. Also i work on all brands and when it comes to atv's i'm seeing far more component failures with the polaris and kawasaki machines and they are not the best selling here and their parts, if you can't get them on say, ebay are expensive. their ignition systems are as reliable as the chinese scooter garbage.
