Certainly I love making stuff. I guess I'd need to look at machines like yours and shoot some designs by you. Or find me a picture and it's game on. Doc

Well the first is using your idea with the hitch receiver. A simple design with a single 90* going up to the carrier. The carrier would probably be best base dimension of say an Igloo type cooler. This should allow 2, 1 gallon cans to fit making it dual purpose. The second would be to make a bolt on mount receiver, 1 on each side of the trunk. Removable of course, with pins and having the same size carrier.
Both inexpensive, heck maybe I'll market the thing on Ebay. Doc

What I was thinking is coming out from the hitch receiver that is already on the 05's and then coming up behind or slightly below the rack(if the exhaust doesn't interfer). Then making a tray to hold a 2gal plus small cooler.. The tray would need to be bent up so to make a ledge to help hold with a few hole to put straps in to hold tight. I know this sounds confusing but I can see it in my mind!!

drlang, Please explain in more detail the bolt on style. I'm having a hard time imagining that.

I also have a bumper on the rear that it would have to clear. Its the double style that loops around the rear lights. Fits 05 and 06.s sportsman.

The Bumper makes option #2 difficult. As for your explaination, I think we're on the same page. I'll see what I can come up with. Doc
