Default 41mm FCR Carb!

450R is not a FCR its the same carb as a 400ex, a butterfly stlye, but a 42mm.
The dirtbike (CRF450R) has a FCR40 stock. Service Honda sell's the the 2003 version for $338.00 (at least last time I checked).
It has hot start and TPS, either of which can be left un hookled with no effects. It also has a choke.
The Ped has a anemic 42mm stocker (Mik 42BSR) and the 450R has a less anemic, (non CV)42mm. I switched to the 40FCR on my 450R , and it is a quciker bike, but not faster. I don't know if that will be similar to how it acts (the FCR) on the Pred or not, but I woudl guess it would be similar.

Default 41mm FCR Carb!

I too have been asking everyone I know about carbs for the predator. I have a 580 big bore kit and think I need a better carb or maybe I just want to buy something new for my bike this month. I think it depends on your riding type. I think you'd got more top end out of the 41mm carb and better bottom with a 39mm. I here that the fcr is the best all round carb wish polaris would just put that on stock to save us the problems with cable to throttle problem lol. I was talking to Doug at Nicholas cycle and he siad the 48mm lectron works great but is it a drag rider carb only or can you mx with it!!

Default 41mm FCR Carb!

I looked up the pn for crf 450 40 mm fcr and it prices for $726 canadian, I can buy a 39mm for $625, and a 41mm for $700 both with hot start and no tps. So now what do you do? The 330 us service honda what would work out will over $700 for once shipped. Call hot seat for a fcr with a bracket kit they want $650 us, That would work out to over a $1000 canadian is a little extra kick worth that much money.
