I have a 95 TrailBoss 250. Some of the trails we rode yesterday required us to cross creeks. I loaned the trailboss out to my wifes friend so she could go riding with us. When she pulled off into the creek she didnt hammer on it so she got stuck untill I pulled her out with my vinson. I guess alot of water seaped into the tranny because today I checked the dipstick and you could tell water was in the oil. I personally don't care for paying 6 or so bucks a pint for Polaris name brand tranny oil. What kinds of oil do you'll use besides the Polaris name brand?

The only suitable substitute for the Polaris trans oil is Amsoil Series 2000 Chaincase Lube.

You will have to check around to see who carries Amsoil, or you can order it from their site. Amsoil delaers are independently owned

KLOTZ chain case oil is the way to go,it is the same as the snowmobile,avoid amsoil.

You can check the Amsoil website to find a dealer near you. Many auto parts stores around here carry Amsoil. Don't listen to Scramblered. Klotz is a good product as well and anyone who says to only use one and avoid the other has some misplaced brand loyalty. That said, I only use Amsoil, but I don't dis Klotz.

I didnt know Klotz made a chaincase oil. hmmmmm. You learn something everyday

i agree with 95sport400. amsoil is the way to go i use it in all the bikes, truck, suv, lawn mower, weed wacker , blower. itis the best protection you can get imo.
