Default New Polaris Oil Question

I was using pol gold, but I noticed at @20f the stuff is like mollasis, so I switched to amsoil, it stays runny at any temp. I noticed that the amsoil has less of an odor out the pipe.

Default New Polaris Oil Question

Here are some guidelines. Do not use outboard two stroke oil. Outboards are run at constant cool temperatures do to the water they are in. Their oil does not protect in severe heat. Use oil that is made for injection systems. It is filtered and refined better so it won't clog up injector systems. Just becaase it has a picture of a motorcycle on the label is not good enough. Read the label.

Default New Polaris Oil Question

Is the gold really being replaced? I noticed in the 2004 brochure, in fine type it listed VES as the best , followed by gold and reg. Polaris oil. I asked the guy in parts and he had no idea why I wanted to run VES, when I showed him the sales brochure, he was dumbfounded. They didn't have gold in gals. that day and told me it was back ordered. I bought 1 qt. and figuered that would be ok for now. Since that visit to my dealer, I have been there 8+ times only to be told that they don't know what is going on, and now they are out of qts. too. How much more is VES by the gal. compared to the gold? Should my dealer know more than me? Thanks for any info on this.

Default New Polaris Oil Question

I've been using Yamalube semi-synthetic 2-stroke injector oil in my Scram 400 since I bought it 4 years ago, and it still runs great. This past weekend I went riding and couldn't get Yamalube at my normal place, so I bought some Polaris Blue injector oil. I didn't have to use it yet, and was thinking of returning the Blue, instead of mixing the two oils. Would there be any problems mixing these two? And what is your guys opinions of these two oils? Thanks, Craig

Default New Polaris Oil Question

All the problems I have encountered with Polaris injectors have come from mixing different brands of oil.I would use caution ...Have a safe ride and Happy New Years!!!
