Default basic mods to a yzf 450

hi all,

got a lot of help in choosing my quad(thanks), and almost 99% sure i am going for yzf450. i would like to know what are the very first mods you would do. full exhaust, filter , tyres etc keeping reliability in mind, and the fact it will probably be used for more than one purpose(trail/dunes etc). not sure if my height (6ft) or weight( 200lbs) matters.

well i would first put on exhaust then get like the ATV PRO PERFORMANCE PACK because that gives everything you will need for air flow. And if you want more speed get it ported and polished.

dont open up the engine yet, Get a Full Exhaust, Pro-Flow With filter of your choice (foam or K&N), then take lid off, get a GYT-R Jet kit (found to be better then Dynojet) Then, get (4) HoleShot XCR Tires to make it handle a little better and hook up all the power. that should be more then enough for a while..

Unless you your getting an first mod you should do is the Deco plug. My friends YZ450F blew up that way and it cost him 2 grand to fix it! Its cheap insurance only $20! But my YZ450F friend made a plug out of silicon and its holding up really good!
First mods IMO:
Pipe (fullsystem or slipon Yoshi, DRD HMF)
Airfilter ( Uni would probably be better for you
Tires (Holeshots, Klaws and Sandstars for dunes )
And you should be set for now!

and range of tyres.

if i decide on the raptor, i will add spacers first and the same mods as above.

You are going to get a lot of replies no doubt.
From a guy who has gone there and done that, here is my input.
1) If it is older than an 05', get the decompression plug.
2) Break in the motor using the Motoman method Break-in secrets
3) Remove the airbox lid
4) Slap a DR. D exhaust on that bad boy
5) Rejet (45 pilot, stock needle on the 5th clip position, 172 main) That will get you pretty close.
6) Ride and enjoy!
