Unhappy Another sad reminder of kids on ATV's

Young girl killed in ATV crash Saturday evening | The Salina Post

I have a nephew turning 8 and there's no way I'd let him drive a side by side regardless of the size of it. Suppose it's possible they took it without anyone knowing too. Very sad regardless.

A 9 and 8 year old riding a 1,100lb Side by Side Ranger? Might as well throw them the keys to the truck while your at it.
A 100cc ATV would be more appropriate.
Sad story never the less.

They didn't even know enough to put their seat belts on which might have made a difference in the result. I'll keep a lookout for any more details on this story to see if the adults knew the girls were doing this or if they sneaked out.

Sad. I noticed no mention of adults, helmets, and no seat belts. Might have got away with a few scratches or banged up a bit if they had them on. Way too young for them to be driving a Ranger.

I learned how to drive a pick-up truck while sitting on my dad's lap at 8 years old. No way in heck was I big enough or responsible enough to drive by myself. And I knew it. Where were the !@#$% parents?

Saw plenty of future accidents just waiting to happen at the shop just by the way the parents acted. You could tell what might happen even though all amount of warnings that the larger atvs, pwcs, utvs, etc were not designed for children went in one ear and out the other. Saw plenty of 10-12 year olds sitting on 100 hp water craft in area lakes. Plus seems like we have kids drowning every summer that weren't wearing life vests when they were swimming. Some people don't need to breed..
