After wanting a go kart all my life, but having parents who wouldn't allow me, I am in the market for a dune buggy style go kart. I am 31 and weigh about 160 lbs. This go kart will be used mostly on dirt trails with little to no incline and paved surfaces. Looking to spend around $2,000 or under. Have been searching various web sites. Seems there's a lot out there, but would like to be sure I am buying from a reputable dealer / person and the product is worth the money. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thks,

Frank

I have a Carter Brothers Talon which is a lot of fun. Paid $1800 for it about 2 years ago and have been enjoying it ever since. does very well off road with moderate hills, but is a little underpowered for really serious stuff. Runs about 40 mph on the straights.

Overall a very good go-cart with the weak link being the steering attachment points(if you hit a tree or other object these tend to bend requiring that you do a front end alignment.

hope this helps

Helps out a lot. Thanks for taking the time. Did you purchase that go kart online or from a local dealer?? I searched for Carter Brothers and it threw me to Best Price ATV's website. Is yours a two seater? My only other concern is the distance to the pedals. I am 6' 1".

Sorry for all of the questions. I'm just a little clueless on this topic.

Thanks again,

Frank in Memphis, TN.
