I have a 1989 suzuki quadsport 250. This machine is kick start only. When the engine is cold I can kick start it all day, but if I pull start it, it will start in five feet. When the engine is warm, normally 1 kick and it will start. If I let sit for and hour and it has time to cool down I'm back to square one, pull starting it. Any help with this problem would be great.

Use the choke.

i had the same thing happen to my 86 230 quadsport. it got to the point to were it wouldnt start no matter what.
check ur compresion. that what mine was. put new rings in it and adjusted the valves. now it starts first kick and has tons of compresion.

Come to think of it, my buddy did have a cold start problem with his 250 when he first got it. After fooling with the carb for hours we finally discovered then intake valve had no lash. From running it without an airfilter (it was a tube sock, lol) the dirt ate away at the intake valve. We set the lash and it ran great.
