I am getting closer to buying one of these 2 machines! I will not be racing and I will only be trail riding and mild hill climbing,,,,I live in Pennsylvania near the endless mountain range...anyways the Z400 is 5700 and the KFX is 6800. Which should I go with and why?? Help a newbie out!!
THANKS!!

I dont think i would go with either for the price see if you can find an 04 or so with the 400 and see how much you can pick one of them up for to be honest i have a kfx400 and my freind as a new 450 there really isnt much of a difference only with the riding style the 400 seems like you are sitting back and the 450 seem more like you are sititng on a crocth rocket.

the only problem i have with the KFX 450 is the seat . its hard as a board .i liken it to a 2X6 with a mouse pad stretched over it. if you stand up all the time ,then no big deal

I think the 400 is more trail friendly of the 2, to me the 450 is more motocross oriented

I think you'd be happier with the 400.

But like Bonedaddycjh said, I'd get a better price. I got my 06 KFX400 new, and it was 5000 OTD.
