Just got back from Winchester Bay and on Friday, there was a film crew there shooting a commercial with a NEW Red Sport Quad. They were all "Top Secret" acting, and asking people not to take any pictures. From what I heard, it was Tim Farr doing the riding. Never got a good look at it, but it apears to be the Real Deal.

It was there Thurs (sounds like Fri too!) ...don't ask...don't tell...it reminded me of the 250r, the way it sits low. They ran the whole place on knobbies, and no I don't have pictures.
I was sworn to secrecy for a look behind the veil.

I talked to a guy that watched it jumping (Big Air), on one landing, Farr hit real hard on the rear wheels, bounced, but landed it anyway. The guy said that he thinks the shift lever broke. When we were there on Friday, they were working on it in the truck and rode it out with a tarp over it. Apparently, they couldn't fix it, and they never even uncovered it. They put it into the back of a Chevy PU, and drove it back, loaded it up and left.

All I could see was the rear fender, front fender, and the exhaust. The muffler was polished, either stainles or aluminum. The fenders were pointed, and looked a lot like the drawing. The guy that I talked to about the jump and hard landing, said that a buddy of his had gotten the whole thing on video. Don't know how to find him, sure would like to see that tape though.

From the front it looks a lot like the DVX, about the same as the drawing...but it looks like it sits a lot lower than anything else out there, similar to the 250R. I didn't get a good look at the suspension. The one down there was red w/black hood.
They had to pack up and find a new location because of all the jacka$$es riding in front of it as he was screaming around the bowls.

Well Honda is out testing the new liquid cooled 450 sport atv in the baja Looks alot like the R and sports a aluminum frame.

It was definately Not the DVX, it was the Honda.
From what I could see, it didn't have an aluminum frame.
They were there shooting a commercial, not testing it.

so if there not testing it we could still be looking at next summer maybe? i cant beleive if they have been testing it already that the magazines havnt got a glimpse of it yet?
if there making a comercial they must be ready for a release i would think?

The talk that I have heard, true or not, is that it has been build for some time. The word is that they were waiting to see what came out of the newest round of "Government getting involved where they don't belong." hearings that Congress was conducting, concerning ATV Safety. Who knows.

I know a little about how honda does product development. When they announced their water craft it was a surprise to most people. It was known honda was working on one but few outsiders knew that it was already in pre production when the dealers were told about it. Think about how long the rumors of this quad have been going on. I'm sure a lot were false but so many had to mean that their was somthing up. I have a feeling that this is similar to the watercraft several years of development untill they feel it's right and then when they are ready it's announced. I wouldn't be surprised if it is in pre-production and you see the new honda in dealerships by the end of september.
