Send it to www.blackwidowatv.com These engines need to be looked at carefully. These guys have rebuilt hundreds of motors.. Chances are you will have some worn parts that must be replaced.. This can only be done by somebody who knows these engines inside and out.. Trust me on this. Your quad will run for years w/ no engine issues if you send it to them, because your everyday wrench doesn't know the little tricks to rebuild these engines to last. Your motor should be back to you in two weeks from the day you ship it..

The wrench at Black Widow worked at ATK for over two years doing nothing other then rebuilding these motors. Black Widow is only 25 miles from ATK. Both places are close to my house. Cord is the wrench at BW.. He knows these engines very well. He is a perfectionist and knows exactly what to look for. These motors are different. They don't have case haves to split. The tranny slides out out w/o having to pull the head off. The jug is part of the case and some other different ideas.. Some items wear out quickly some don't.. Assembly problems were most of the issues w C-Dale. ATK does all the correct upgrades except one of the most important.. The big end rod bearing needs to be changed to a Z400 bearing and ATK won't do it. They are ignorant as they say it's not needed.. They are dead wrong!!!! The Dale bearing was a good attempt, but it will fail.. The main bearing in only the FX400's was a bad design also in 01. It will fail also.. Cannondale actually corrected that in the 02 year..

My friend Chris rebuilds Dale motors, and has done 12 Dale engines throughout the years. He specializes in engines that arrive in buckets, needing a buildup from scratch. We are located in Sacramento, and currently have over 8 Dales among us. Black Widow is a great source for engine rebuilds, but if you would like someone a bit closer and a bit cheaper that can perform the same service, give us a call. We currently order all our parts from Black Widow, but our labor rate is cheaper, as we have another form of primary income. Chris currently has three engines on the bench in various states of rebuilding, and can accomodate more. 619-980-7268

Hi, If you're still looking to get your motor reassembled we would be more than happy to do it for you. We use to have a Cannondale dealership and Scott knows his way around these motors, he gives a good deal too. If you're interested give us a call.
