I just got my cannondale yesterday and the guy that I got it from went over everything on it and I missed why he said it idles so high they are suppose to right? and why do they idle higher

..2,100 to 2,200 is about what you want...Some ppl say cuzz of oil psi. Some say they stall very easy..So to be honest i really dont know..But it dont matter cuzz how offten on any bike are you at idle or even under 3,00 rpms?

Trail riding? Quite a bit.

Just hit the dunes with him today and his new quad. If all Cdales idle like that I can say I would never want one. Definite turn off for a trail machine, IMO.
Seemed to run decent and handle good however. Only one I've/we've ever seen in person.
But I'll keep my Z400 thankyou.

ok I have been asking this for a while now and I haven't gotten the answer I am looking for I know that they idle so high because the motor has to, but why does it have to idle that high something has to make it idle that high compared to anyother four wheeler especially being fuel injected it dosn't bother me that they idle so i high I just want to know what makes them have to idle so high thanks for any info

..I'll bet its a few things,oil psi,stalling,charging...go to cannondaleridersdotcom and ask there.

The reason for the high idle is because of the decompression weights could ingage at lower rpms. The higher idle keeps this from happening. The top speed of the Cannondale varys, could be 70 or 75......
