It all started at the end of last year. It just stopped running. So now, this year I started to work on it to get it running for him to enjoy on our new ten acres. It would just crank but not start.

First I adjusted the valves (twice). Nothing.

Then I took the carb out and cleaned it. Started right up and idled forever! Went to ride it and it died about 10 minutes later.

Retook the carb out and cleaned it again, put a new NGK plug in, changed the oil, drained and cleaned the tank, adjusted and lubed the chain. Nothing.

Finally found out that I had loose wires under the tank for the saftey switch. Fixed all of the connections and then it started right up. He rode it for about an hour and then he put it away.

Now to today.... Went out to start it and it just cranks but not start. Took the plug out and cranked it over and it's got spark. Opened the float bowl screw and turned on the fuel and it flows right through. Checked the wiring and all its connected. What now???? I'm about to blow this thing up!!!!!

number 1 cause of hard or no start problems with a atv thats has ignition is tight valves, i'd go back and adjust the valves to .004, both intake and exhaust. if that still doesn't do it, you might have a plugged exhaust pipe (muffler)something might have broken off inside,, remove it and then try starting it, also try starting fluid and see if that makes a differance.

It's definatly not the valves. I've readjusted them 4 times since this has happened, just to make sure they are correct. I'm thinking I'm too lean with the fuel. I know it is flowing into the float bowl but I don't think it's getting to the carb. When I get another chance I will try to spray starter fluid into the top of the carb.

Chineeseatvmechanic is correct. Spray either on the air filter (not much, about 1 second worth or else you can blow the engine up) if it fires up and runs for 1 to 2 seconds - then you absolutely KNOW it is something in the fuel delivery system (probably Carb) and not electrical or mechanical.
I was surprised on a 110 that the idle mixture screw needed to be set at only 1/8 to 1/4 turn off lite bottom - most american carbs start out at 1-1/2 turns off lite bottom for the idle mixtures screw(s).

I think I narrowed it down to a wiring problem. Can somebody please email me a complete wiring diagram????

Checked wiring and I'm getting ground to both wires that go to the rear cut off swich even with it disconnected. The side safety switch works correctly but is also showing ground through the yellow and black wires. I'm thinking that I have a bad CDI but don't want to buy a new one unless I can narrow it down to it. Where can I go from here?

I know this sounds crazy, but have you checked the fuel filter? I recently had the exact same thing happen to my Wombat 50, and realized that the tank needed to be full of fuel in order to keep the carb loaded. I had the float bowl full (drained when unscrewed) but no go. Filled the tank completely and boom fired right up - ran perfect. Felt really silly about the obvious. After I looked in the tank it "looked full" but added quite a bit to make it run. Hopefullly, this will be your simple solution.
