I have been meaning to post something about the 350 test session but have been very busy. It was a beautiful day for testing at Carnegie (track vidos) It had even rained a little the nite before. Eugene showed up a couple of minutes after my wife and I did. I unloaded my KTM, XR75 and the Jetmoto 200 and 150. Eugene unloaded the 350 quad and it attracted a bit of attention. By the time I got dressed Eugene had the quad warmed up and I took out on the track. The first few laps I took it easy and got a feel for jumping the quad. On my 2nd time out I was feeling pretty confident in the suspension and was jumping pretty far off one of the jumps.
There were 3 of us testing the 350, myself, Eugene's friend Collen and my oldest son. We traded off every 15-20 minutes for about 4 hours on the track. 2 problems came up on the track. First one was the seat/rear plastic assy. It would unlatch partially and the seat would come loose. Second thing was the battery falling out of the front compartment. I told Eugene it was a sign it wanted to be moved.
Eugene got tired of filming the track and wanted to get some time out in the whoops. I was pretty whooped from my track time so Collen was up again. We all had noticed the shocks getting softer and figured they were warming up a little. They were too hot to hold your hand on as Collen headed into the whop section. I watched him for about 15 minutes and headed to the truck for a drink. The quad was handling the whoops well despite the shocks being very hot. As I headed back to the whoop section my oldest son was walking back. Quad had broke something in the front end. The front end doesnt use ball joints at the spindle. It uses heim joints instead. The lower one seperated from a arm. Im not sure yet if the bolt broke or if it loosened and fell out.
The quad was loaded up and is going in for some repairs and some mods before the testing begins again. Id would guess we will ride it again in about 2 weeks. Its going to get some frame changes and some new plastic. Color will still be orange for the prototype. White, silver and yellow/black are being considered for production. Orange will be one of the production colors for sure.

Thanks for the info! All in all, that doesn't sound to bad for a preproduction unit.

The 350 is ready for more testing...... Anyone who can make it to Carnegie this Saturday can take it for a ride. We will be parked by the atv/dirt bike track behind the camp ground.

The 350 had some major changes for this session. Biggest change was the top half of the frame, from about the middle of the seat forward to the front of the quad was cut off and basically made thinner and lower. The steering stem is now lower also. (approx 3" lower in the front) The gas tank is gone and so is the front mount battery and all the front plastic. Battery is under the left rear fender and the gas tank in now mounted under the front plastic. I think I heard the new tank and front plastic were maier Suzuki 450 racing plastic.
The front A-Arms were different and so were the shocks. A-arms now have ball joints at the spindle pivots, still use heim joints at the frame pivots. Shocks were from a 450R. The front end was wider than the last test session and I think its too wide for a 350. The steering felt heavier than the first ride and I think it was from the added width. As it sat it was approx 6-7" wider than a stock Z400. The rear was approx 4-5" wider than the Z400.
The only difference I noticed while riding on the track was the quad jumped and landed level most of the time. I also spent some time on the trails and hills at Carnegie this time. That is when the width of the quad bothered me most. Stability was real nice but just seemed to wide for the hp available. A silencer tip was installed in the hmf muffler for this test session and it didnt seem to make the quad any quieter (I didnt think it was too loud befotre) but did take away from the response at lower rpms. I suggested either tossing it or making a new one with a larger opening.
From what I have heard the quad will most likely be shipped back east this week for some dyno time. I suggested trying a few different cams and jetting combos. Carb was lean for the first time out, then seemed rich with the silencer tip.
I will try to get some pics up later today with the new plastic and front end.

I met up with MWQ and the folks from JetMoto this past Saturday at Carnegie. I would like to thank them for allowing me to take their 350 on a ride
Over-all, I liked the quad it has great potential for the size of quad it is. I didn't take it on the track but did take it out on the trails.
When I first sat on the quad, it had a good fit for me (I am 5'10/200 lbs) as far as height and reach of the bars. The pegs could be a little wider and the shifter arm needs to be shorter. A few times while riding the trail I totally missed the shifter arm and missed my shifts (I was wearing Tech 8 boots). For someone like MWQ who is over 6 feet tall, that might not be a problem, but for some one who is around 5'10, that could lead to a dangerous situation out on a trail, especially if climbing and you need to shift down for more torque. As far as power, 1, 2 and 3rd gear were close to being just about right, it could use some more low end torque and like MWQ mentioned above, maybe a cam will take care of that. At the very least a smaller front sprocket will help (I think it had a 15 tooth sprocket of front) The steering was heavy, but again like MWQ stated above, the front end is wide and very stable. However, out on the trail it is to wide and needs to be narrower. Some of the lines I picked to ride in the ruts it was just a tad to wide. From what I was told, the back axle can be narrowed 2" by taking out the 1" spacers on both sides. However, the front doesn't have that capability. Engine breaking was awesome! Unlike my Z400 on the same trails I did not need to use my brakes at all which I feel is a plus on steep hills. Only time I was able to get the front wheel off the ground was heading up a hill and dropping in to 1st gear, out side of that no bottom end torque for wheelies.
If I can remember some other things or you ask question(s) I'll post if I can help. With some more tweaking, I think JetMoto is on their way to having a nice 350 quad.

So any pic/video? Did you run it against somthing we can judge by, like a Jetmoto 250 perhaps? MWQ did you or Eugene take a Jet 250, sure does not seem that you have put many miles on yours to date?

Hoping to get pics soon. No video this time because Eugene had a very sick family to take care of. I drove there in my car so I didnt take any toys. Only thing we had to compare it to was a Z400. 350 had better suspension but couldnt touch the 400 for power. I could keep the guy on the 400 behind me until the one straight away with no jumps, then he motored by easily. My 250 will be there for the next test session and is going to get a lot of time at Pismo in June.

any new updates? Is there a projected date for availability? I also saw that someone (i think it was mwq) said it is a warrior engine. Will the mods that work on a warrior work on this?

I havnt heard from Eugene since the last test session. Not sure what is going on.....as far as availability I would guess it could be here by August... Engine is all warrior and I would think it if fit a Warrior it would fit a Jetmoto 350.

thanks for the info mwq. are there any pics avail with the major changes (new plastic, moved battery, lowered ride height etc.)? Also are they still trying to make it all available for 3k or less? I am planning on getting one if I like the look and if the price is as projected. I am excited about the outcome of this project, so I hope that I am not disappointed. I had bad luck with a chinese motorcycle so I am hoping that this is much better quality.

Your Welcome esonnen, the goal is to be under 3K, hoping for $2900.00. I will try and get a hold of Eugene today and see if his buddy (quad builder) sent him any pics. Ill also find out where the quad is right now. I am going to Pismo mid June and am trying to get Eugene to let me take it with me. He is interested in how it does in the sand and if the timing is right we will find out.
What Chinese motorcycle did you get? What problems did you have with it?

a few years back I got a 2004 yamoto 200cc with the protective plastic still on the seat and lights. I bought it at an auction. It would not stay running unless you turned up the idle screw a lot, then the rpms would constantly fluctuate. We messed with the carb a lot and got nowhere. we replaced the CDI. no change. I did not like the feel of the ride on the bike, the shift pattern or the fact that you couldn't adjust the ride height. The rear suspension was terribly stiff. Someone on these forums made a modification to the rear shock mount that made a huge difference on their bike, but I never put the time into mine. It is now sitting in my brother in laws garage. I think I got it up to 45 mph once. It didnt feel like it had enough low end to justify changing sprockets to a larger front or smaller rear. Also I was very frustrated with the typical chinese problem of all the bolts coming loose because nothing had loc-tite. Bad investment I guess.
I am excited about the new jet 350 because of the price and the fact that it has been driven around so much without any fails other than running rich once. It seems reliable from the sound of things. I am a little disappointed to read that rescuediver said that it seems to lack low end power. I am looking for a cost efficient sportier upgrade to my kawasaki lakota sport 300cc, which can pop wheelies even with a larger front sprocket (it currently has a top speed of about 58mph but will hopefull go up quite a bit as of this weekend when I get my modified cam, 335cc big bore kit, and even larger front sprocket). Probably my biggest disappointment with my lakota is the weight and suspension. So if this 350 can perform as good as or outperform my lakota and handle a bit better, I am all over it.

esonnen, sounds like your Yamoto 200 was extremely lean from the factory.
Dice, I spoke with Eugene a couple of days ago. They have been testing a couple of motor mods and are also going to try another swing arm to see if it affects handling. Eugene said it might be available for me to take to the dunes in 2 weeks. I sure hope so....it would be nice to see how it does in the sand as well as in the dirt.

Welcome to the forum offroadatvs! When is still up in the air until all the testing is done. I went to Jetmoto yesterday and talked with Eugene for a while. He is hoping for a Sept release but it will not be sent to China for production until its perfect. Price is going to be under or at $3000.00

Definitely has more power than the 250, and it has 2 more forward gears.
Eugene has been buying hop up parts for a 350 Warrior/Raptor engine and everything has fit/worked so far.
