Our daughter's new 110 seems very nice, but the gearing seems a bit odd. Shifting from 1st through 2nd is fine, but 3rd gear seems really tall. There's a big, big RPM drop from 2nd to 3rd. It takes quite a while to wind it out, and by the time you have, you're really haulin'... much more than seems realistic for the capabilities of the quad.

Is this just the nature of the gearing on the 110? Motor seems to be running fine. Anyway, if there's any hints as how to make 3rd more usable, please hip me to it!

A lot of the chinesse quads make the highest gear way too high. The jetmoto 250's 4th gear is totally useless until you drop the gear ratio. maybe that is what is needed, or perhaps your not reving high enough in 2nd. (Is it a full auto or CVT?)

It's 3 speed with an automatic clutch. I can pin it in 2nd, but it just falls into a cave when it's shifted into 3rd.

Get a smaller front gear and 3rd gear will be usable, but 1st and 2nd will be much lower. Beware unintended wheelies!

you are not alone on the JM 110 top gear issue.
If you decide to try gearing the front lower the best you will be able to do is a 13 tooth. I did a lot of research on this for my JM 110. What I ended up with is a 13 tooth front from the Honda TRX 90. You will also need the lock plate and go ahead and get the bolts also. Call you local Honda dealer and order the TRX90 13 tooth front.. most likely made by Sunstar for $19. Honda Front lock plate $1, and the two mounting bolts. Dont expect a huge improvement. With the new front and the upgraded 26mm carb, 3rd seems "almost" useable. ;-)

IMHO, prior to the front sprocket change, 1st gear was too high also.
