I see Raceway has pics up now. Would like to see something for scale by one - like a person or a side by side comparison of their offerings.

What is the source for the engine design (honda, yamaha, etc.)? And, what sort of bikes was it used on originally?

It sits approx 3" higher than the current 200. The engine is a bigger version of the 200.(used in the current quad and dirt bikes) Im not sure yet if its bored or stroked, or both to get the extra cc's.

Thanks. As to the engine, I meant is it of honda, yamaha etc design (or is it chinese design - surely not). And as to previous use, I likewise meant what previous japanese bike, scooter etc. - e.g., the 1983 hondazukaha 200 doodleflotcher XL.

Hello all !! I've been bitting my tongue for a couple of months now. But I've had one of the prototype Jetmoto 250 sport quads since Nov 19th. I LOVE this quad. I have some pics on my page side by side with my 200 Jetmoto. Keep in mind I have wheel spacers on it thou. But still Like MWQ said "It's better for the larger rider" than the mid sized 200 offered before. And let me tell you the performance is superb !!

Im pretty sure the 200/250 engine is a early 80's yamaha design.

I took a couple of pics of the 250 Quad with myself on it on the way to a camping trip last friday. I will post the pics tonite.

Thanks MWQ, it's good to be here and finally able to talk about the 250. I will try to get more pictures of it up soon. And it might be a different color soon if John at Raceway can hook me up with some new plastics for it. When I got it it was red and I was so excited to get it I didn't care then. But as you can see in the other pictures we all have red. Just a little boring.. Anyway did you get another 250 or is the pics your going to post of the one you had before? (proto)

I've been foloowing your comments for a couple of months now. All very cool and very honest !!
That's good that everybody helps out on the forum.

Can you guys elaborate a little more on the power of the 250 for us over 200lbs riders? How would you say the quality of this unit is compared to a Japanese quad? Are the Chinese quads there yet in your opinion?
I am looking to order a 250 and a 150 here with in a month or so from Raceway and can hardly wait to get to take them out for a spin!

Hello outofline,

I weight 225 lbs and I'm 5' 11" and this Jetmoto 250 pulls my fat butt around with no problems.. As far as the Jap bikes I cant compare them, I've never been on a Jap Quad. But for almost a 1/3 of the price I wouldn't worry about it. There is a few of things I changed on mine so far. 1st get a NEW spark plug (NGK), and I bought a new spark plug wire from the plug to the coil. BIG difference ($7 - $8) total. The other plug wires get to hot. 2nd get wheel spacers, makes the bike very very stable and more fun to ride and plus it looks mean !! Also I put different handle bars and gas tank cap.

Id say the quality is real close to the Japanese with the '07 quads.(150/200 and 250) For example Jetmoto now gets their wiring harneses from Taiwan, The same company that does wiring harness's for Toyota. Their control's and electrical components are now also made in Taiwan, by the same company that builds those components for Yamaha. (it might be for Kawasaki but either way its for a big 4 company. Better quality steel is now used in the frames etc.

As for power, its real good for a 250. Its not going to compare to a 400 ex but its just a 250.

I just went over to a local Chinese ATV shop here in my town to compare theirs with the Jetmotos, They sell the Tomahawk and NST brands. I can see how the bigger frame of the 07 jetmotos would be a better fit for my size guy (6'2 230lbs). They did not have a demo so I was not able to test the power of the 150cc that I am concerned with. I need an Automatic or a Semi auto for the wife but I worry about the 150 not being powerful enough to have fun dicing around with my teenage boys with me on the 250.

But I am still impressed with the looks of the build and design quality of the 07 Jetmoto over this guys ATV's and the prices are the same as you would pay at Raceways for the same cc units. He did show me a brochure of new models and they show a 250 and 300cc that are semi auto trans that does sound interesting. But I noticed it did say Front Drum Brakes. What's the deal with that?

Unless your wife is really aggressive the 150 will be fine.

I dont think any Chinese quad is even going to come close to the '07 Jetmotos(150/200/250). Eugene has replaced many of the critical "problem items" with parts made in Taiwan. Even all the wheel bearings, etc... will be made in Taiwan. The other thing that is really going to set the Jetmotos apart is well thought out spring rates and honest to goodness damping. Compression and rebound damping. Id bet some of the lower priced Japanese quads dont have as good of shocks as the ones that will come on the '07 Jetmotos. There is even going to be needle bearings for the a-arms and swing arm. Not sure if there is needle bearings or bushings in the rear shock linkage but everything about the quad is smooth. It even rolls effortlessly, no drag at all.

If anyone reading this is making a quad they think is better? Feel free to send me one, and I'll beat on it for a while. I'll be sure to talk about it on the forum.

The wife will not be aggressive but I am sure my 16 year old boy will want to keep up with dad on it, I would like to buy two 250's but it would need to be wife friendly clutch wise so that puts her into a 150. I'm sure it will be fine and if not it's not the end of the world if we have to upgrade later on!

Do the 150 and 250 sound nice? I don't plan on upgrading the exhaust but I hope they sound pretty good stock!

I went back to the local Chinese atv dealer and rode his Tamahawk 150. Perhaps I am expecting to much because it was quite gutless! Looking back I remember the power of my brothers old Honda 185 ATC, it was more powerful but then it had 35 or so more cc's and a semi auto trans. Perhaps it's the Full auto trans that sucks the power I was hoping to feel with the 150.
Perhaps I will order one Jetmoto 250 first and see if the Wife can master it before I order her a 150. I would much rather have two 250's to race around with my boys.

The Jetmoto 150 sounds great - really. The dingo 150 has a much more tame sound.

As to power, it should be about the same as the bike you tested. It will top end around 30 mph. It seems to have enough low end grunt for a 150 - about the best you could expect from the range available from a cvt.

I had a honda 185S atc in jr. high/high school - no, the 150 just doesnt have the range of the 185S I had. Heck, the 185S had more top end than the timberwolf and the rancher we have. In fact when we finally replaced it with an 86 suzuki 230 quad sport, we were disappointed in that the 185S was a good bit faster.

I have been researching this a bit, here is what I have found:

Comparing the 07 Jetmoto 250 Sport to the 07 Honda TRX250ex:

JetMoto 250
32" Seat Height
370lbs Dry
229cc Air cooled
21" Front 20" Rear tires
64" L
43" W
41" 1/2 H
43" Wheel Base

Honda TRX250ex
31.4" Seat Height
360lbs Dry
229cc Air cooled
22" Front and Rear tires
60" L
41.8 W
42" H
44" Wheel Base

So it seems this is a full sized 250cc sport ATV now, it is slightly bigger in most ways to the Honda!

I noticed that the 06 Jetmoto 200 lists a 5 speed manual transmission is this true and why was it not used for the 250? This would have closed the gap even further to the Honda. As you can see I am not an impulse shopper, I will toss this around til they are out of production , my wife hates this character trait in me!
