I just purchased two 2000 watt honda generators and wondering if anyone has run accross or know of a way to secure and protect them when they are outside of the trailer running? Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
I have one of these generators and just running a chain or cable thru the carry handle really wont secure them. The plastic handle could be easily cut with a hacksaw as you know.
I built a steel box using heavy gauge expanded metal and made provision so the access door lock could also secure a tie down chain when needed. It negates the ease of portability of the little generator but was the best solution I found when I need to have he unit running outside overnight. Being able to chain it to a car or truck it stops the majority of the "grab and run" thieves.
When using the unit outside our truck camper it sets on the extended front bumper of the pickup with a locking expanded metal cover over it.
