Thought I would start a thread for those in Portland and NW Oregon and SW Washington. Lets share some riding areas and good times together!

Hey I am going to be a new California import to Vancouver, WA as of May 9th. Let's hook up when I get settled. And please don't hold it against me that I am from So Cal.

I don't think anyone would have anything against a fellow QUAD rider wherever your from. Keep DSXBEAR company, if he does not want to talk come on up to "Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet here" thread. WELCOME and Good luck with your move to the great N.W. Jim....

Thanks BigDaddy. I will definitely need to get my fix of riding. I will jump on that thread. I have been lurking for awhile now and it sounds like a good bunch of people. Look forward to meeting you.

You guys that live in the Vancouver/Portland areas have it good, your close to the coastal dunes, Washougal is right there, Golendale is not to far away, and all the dirt a rider could want. I'm moving down there, THATS IT..!!!!!

Has anyone riden @ Christmas Valley in South East Oregon?, if so what is it like.....Jim

it's kind of fun, it's a little dusty but you can ride sand that is smooth almost all the time the wind will come up in the afternon and smooth things out nice no big hills though

jones creek orv area is just outside washougl wa.
it has three short loops that are wide enough for quads. The trails are well maintained.
there is also many miles of forest service roads.More than enough for a day trip....
There is also an area of powerline trails east on hwy 14 we call the area maybe mines...
there is miles and miles of trails from technical rock crawling to haulin you know what...
I ride my trx300fw up there alot....but be careful not to get lost...its happened with me...luckly i had a buddy with me that had a duelsport bike and he rode back the 25 miles on the hwy to get the truck and pick me up...

Hi there,
I live in Vancouver and we love to play in the mud at Browns camp, Capitol State Forest and enjoy the poker runs at Jones Creek. We are headed up to Tahuya for the poker run this weekend, it will be our first time riding up there. I'm curious about the riding spot mentioned by hondablue, where on hwy 14 is it?

Thanks!

Hey Hondablue, Have you been up to Jonescreek yet this year? I heard that it was still closed but it says the trails open April 1. Am I wrong?

Jones Creek opened up on May 1st. I was there the first weekend of April thinking it was open, but the BLM "cop" pulled up alongside me and gave me a lecture about how people like me get places like Jones Creek closed down. I told her that I was the president of a local ATV club with over 100 members, and that it was my understanding that Jones Creek always opened on April first. She said that it had changed this year. Evidently they can only have it open for 6 months/year. Last year they kept it open an extra month, so they had to delay opening it up another month. Anyway...there were no signs posted except on the bulletin board with the map (which I don't use, because I don't need a map there anymore). So...to make a long story short...IT'S OPEN!!! Oh...and I never actually got my quad out of the back of my truck that day.

If you guys want to hook up with local riders, check out my club site and message boards. The link is in my signature.
