Was just wondering. I love to ride in the rain. It gives it a more nasty feeling, LOL. The wetter the better for me.

I like a cold crisp sunny day in the mountains, early spring time, where you have to bust trail through snow drifts in a few places, and when all the creeks are at full run-off stage. A nice biting cold wind, with crystal clear skys that let you see the horizon hundreds of miles away makes it perfect for me.

Rains the night before to cut the dust and make lots of mud. Temps in the mid-60's with sunshine on the riding day. That's about perfect but any riding day is all good.

Best ride I have had was when it started warm raining 1/2 way into ride pretty hard filled the water holes right up. Just blasting hole after hole, did not matter how wet was.

I like to ride when it's about 75 to 80 degrees.Definately after a rain air smells great and no dust.At that temp the woman take there tops off and ride free. Just doesn't get any better than that.

TRUE< TRUE That sounds like a important factor, LOL
I guess on second thought, my mood also depends on what could be considered an ideal riding condition. Just depends I guess. Not just with environmental conditions, but things like, your company (girls, tops, off), your state of mind, your goal for that days ride (to tear it up, cruise the trails or maybe hit some jumps), you get the picture.

My best riding condition is when all four wheels are on the ground and I come home after riding all day in one peace.

my off road experience is mostly on bikes, but I loved good packed snow. It was better than some of the soils I've ridden on, and just gets better with use.

The question is more WHEN is the best time?

Right now is great riding in CO, because you have warm weather but patches of snow in the mountains. But with the snow melting you also get mud (CO lacks water in general any other time).

Soon the melt water will be gone and CO will be desert dry again. It'll be really hot, and the wind will create massive dust clouds.

Right now is the best riding in CO I think. This or deep winter because below a certain point in the mountains you'll get 60 degree days and sunny weather with not alot of snow.

I like the conditions right now here in Newfoundland. It's warm enough for a sweat shirt and pants (not too warm and uncomfy). You can go on snow and mud in the lower terrain. I was at the Ski resort yesterday which is now closed. What a lot of fun.
