I was wondering if anyone has any experience putting a tractor plow on an ATV. I have a blade from a 16 hp sears tractor (mid 70's) and would like to be able to mount it on my vinson. I don't have the plow near me right now otherwise I would include pics. Also would doing this void any warranties?
thanks

I'm actually doing just that right now with my Eiger. My girlfriends father gave me a 48" Polaris blade. He also gave me the part (don't know what you call it) that attaches the blade to the push-carriage with the springs, and swivel mechanism, which was home-made for a tractor a long long time ago. I am building my own manual lift and push-carriage out of angle-iron. The quad is still under warranty for another 4 months. As long as they can't tell that you altered the machine, I don't see how they could void the warranty. The set up that I designed is completely bolt-on. When it's done in a few days I can post some pics if ya want.

The Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act will help

There is a law that the manufacture has to prove that the modifications you did, actually made a problem with the item.
here is a link to help explain how it works.

BradW,

Please do post pics of your plow setup. I want to get a plow for my Rancher and I am interested in seeing what you have come up with. I'm not a welder so I can't do much metal fabrication, but I could have it done, or I may end up buying something like what Swisher or Moose Utilities Div. offer.

Well, it's just about done. I am done with the push-carriage which I made out of 3x4 1/4" angle iron. It all connects to the quad via two long rods and 4 hitch-pins. I did this mostly out of scrap steel, so it isn't the most beautiful thing in the world, but it's damn solid. Just have to finish connecting the blade to the push-carriage and then I'll get some pics. I didn't do any welding, other than fixing some busted stuff on the blade, so it is very do-able using grade-8 hardware.
