I was somewhat dissapointed with them during last weeks show. I don't know who exactly takes care of this, I assume the program director? Anyway they had a commercial on during their show. This commercial was from a law firm. It stated that atv's were dangerous and that if you or a loved one was injured in an atv accident to call them! What kind of junk is that? During an atv show? I could not beleive it.

I doubt they have any control over who picks the commercials. That would be the station management itself, I would think.
Now whether they know those types of commercials are being ran may be something to mention to them.

I guess thats how they target the audience. I rarely even see advertisements for dirt bikes and quads while watching a show that has nothing to do with off roading.
By the way, what station does Fishers ATV world broadcast on?

Think about it. A) you have an ATV audience... and B) the company is trying to make a buck. The show stays on the air via advertizement sales. They don't care about who is on the paying end as long as there is income. No income equals canceled show.. Just use the commercial time to go use the facilities or get yourself a drink and some chips.

I see your point to a certain degree, but I dont totally think that they look at it that way, I mean you need to make a buck but you can't cut your own throat either. The more I have thought about it, the more I think that maybe scooter gptx is right. I bet the show knew nothing about it.

Many times the producer of a program has little control over what commercials are shown. They have "their" commercials which they sell on their programming (their sponsors and such) but the network and local cable affiliates have slots in which they can insert commercials. Those can be purchased by anyone or they can be run throughout the day and just happen to end up there.
Most likely in this case the outdoor channel sold the commercial spot to the scumbag lawyer. Or dish network, direct tv or the cable company might have. I'd suspect the outdoor network did. Probably got a good rate for it too. That is if the sales staff had any sense.

I heard from the show after emailing them. I like their response, I didn't figure they knew anything about it. Below is their response.
Hey Robert,
We saw the same commercial, and believe me we were on the phone the
next
day. You will not see another ad like that before, during, after or
near
our show again. Here is what happened. We (Fisher's ATV World) do not
own all of the advertisement inventory available during the show.
Somehow a ad salesperson sold this spot and probably did not view the
actual commercial. Keep in mind that the salesperson is probably not an
ATV enthusiast and would not know how detrimental this could be to our
sport. Still this is no excuse and Needless to say we were not happy.
This just shows how underhanded these attorneys are in trying to make a
quick buck and chase ambulances. You are not the first person who has
questioned this commercial and showed disappointment. Even though the
ad
will not air again we feel confident in our responsible viewers that
they will not contact this attorney. We are sorry for this ad and we
have addressed it fully.
Thanks so much for watching Robert and for the e-mail.
-The Fish Staff
Hey Robert, Just wanted to shoot you another e-mail and let you know that you can e-mail Outdoor Channel too with your disappointment in the ad, which may get us closer to totally banning that attorney from advertising on the Outdoor Channel at all. Thanks -The Fish Staff

Good to hear. And a nice quick response too.
If you have the email address for the Outdoor Channel, you may want to post it so others can send them an email too.

I used to watch the show but all I seem to get on a local digital station (secondary channel if you will) are old reruns. They show the same show about 2-3 times a day. I'm assuming they are still making new shows? I guess it wouldn't work out in Outdoor Channel's best interest to sell new shows for "free access." Though nearly all of the commercials that air are one of the big vendors (Yamaha being #1) or associated type commercials. Or for the station itself.

Ive seen these commercial 2,I was gonna post em here I even wrote down the 1 law firm I was gonna post oust the lawyers but I got busy never got on here.I havent seen the comercials since but I was irate an thought back to the 80s an 3 wheelers an our court system is so screwed up an over.
If I was a judge I would look at the file and if there wasnt any machine design flaws, swing arm broke etc I would throw the case out and tell them this stupidity has no place in my court, and this is frivoulous an charge them w scamming the system an wasting my time.I will now wake up but this is how it should work. All I could think was great this time it will be the 4 wheelers an because of some stupid ahole that was doing something stupid we all have to suffer, nice to know theres people that will exploit us and try to make a buck out of bs.What a travesty,

I saw the commercial 2 times over the weekend. It was either on Speed TV or G4. It talks about ALL atv's. It specifically targets the Yamaha Rhino.

yeah, I knew after I got the email from the Fishers atv world website that he was ticked off about it. I don't guess I ever want someone to be mad but this time being mad is a good thing! LOL

Well, my "free" preview of the OTD channel is over according to Directv. Since it was never marked as a preview before, I didn't know it was just temporary. If you call watching it for over a year temporary. So I guess I won't get to see the show anymore.

Check with Directv. We had Directv and it was one of only 2 or 3 channels you could get as an add on for about 2 bucks a month. Now we have Dish Network and we still get the Outdoor Channel added for 2 bucks a month.

I switched from DishNetwork to Directv and the OTD was in the channel package. Has me and a few other people here scratching our heads.
I would think that ESPN would carry something like that on ESPN2, as it would increase the viewership and give them a vehicle to promote the ATV games like they had last year.

Yes TODC is available with a package upgrade but I also am 99% sure it is listed as an a la carte which means you can order JUST IT if you don't want the whole package upgrade.
