This video can really make you think. It actually gets to the atv segment 1 minute into the video.

That must be an older video. RB had made lots of changes in the last year doing exactly wht that video says they plan to do - trail maintenance and trail marking. There are still ridearound areas but they have made many new sections of trails to avoid all too deep for an ATV mudholes. BTW. about half of those really large mudholes are just outside the RB boundary where the main road forks into the top end of trail #1. I think they've done a prety good job of keeping RB fit for riders to enjoy.

Interesting...

I am on active duty with the Marine Corps; 25 plus years and counting. Returned home from Habbaniyah, Iraq, in July 06 and am back out on the left coast where I am stationed. My ATV riding is mostly in NW Minnesota on a 2004 AC 500 4X4 auto. Out on the left coast I ride a Hawg.

Notice most of the riders didn't have a helmet, LOL.

If nobody goes on those trails for a few yrs, you wouldn't even be able to tell a trail was there. Its a full time job just cutting down the vegetation growing into my trails I made on my own land and ride almost every single day. If I took a yr off, I wouldn't have trails anymore. Much of this stuff has been blown out of proportion, but I do agree we should take care of the land (including plants and wildlife). And I wouldn't mind paying a little extra tax for them to follow us around fixing the trails instead of paying them to complain about they way everybody likes to have fun. I probably live within 50 miles of where that video was shot, and it looks just like everywhere I ride around here. I haven't noticed any big puddles I couldn't get around and ALL the roads around here are totally passable. Heck, one of my chores around my property is to purposely ride through all the flooded areas of my land in order to stir the water and keep it from stagnating. If it weren't for liability issues, I would have some kids come over and ride around doing it for me.

Randy - good point on the liability issues. The sad thing is I can still be held liable for those that choose to ignore my "No Trespassing" signs and hurt themselves on my property.

Yeah, no kidding! They tell me if I have the signs every 50 ft around the edge of my property, I can't be held liable.... However, that doesn't seem to comfort me all that much. Not to mention having to decorate my place like a military compound just to have a fair shot at not losing it in court.

If you see a sign that says, "No Trespassing" and it makes you think there is really cool riding on the others side, you might be a redneck (or substitute the label of your choosing ).

I'd love nothing better than to give the kids a place to ride. I take care of the trails and will even store the quads so all they have to do is show up n ride. But I can hardy stomach even letting my friends-of-20yrs' kids ride. I know my friends would never sue me, but the insurance companies that pay the hospital bills will.
