was wondering if anyone heard anything about the orv park they were planning on building in monroe south jersey. I heard chatsworth was closing in about a years time. I'm just getting back into riding, after about ten years of sitting on my can i just started building a quad for my girl and am gonna pick up a 440 for myself. Am i just wasting money? is there any place to ride legally in this state?

Dont waste your money, socialists run this state.Your suppose to register your quad but why bother when ya cant use it legally on the street or in the woods,Basically not only is there a land grab game going on in nj there is a money grabbing game going on too along w it.Back in 1991 Dep allowed you to register your quad, between sierra club an other environmental groups sqawked,DEP caved into there demands and out lawed the riding on public land but that didnt stop them from taking peoples money.I might not be correct on all of this so if Im wrong somebody let me know nicely but im pretty sure this is how its gone

They say the DEP is responsible for the hold up in building an orv park in south jersey. I didn't know if there was any truth to that. I can't see how they can say you must register and insure your quad for it to be legally ridden in the state and then say it is illegal to ride on state land.I thought state owned land belonged to the people of the state. I stumbled on a site for a privately owned race track which is being built in millville. This was supposedly blessed and endorsed by the governer. membership to the track costs in the thousands, yes this is correct.$5,000 initiation and $2,000 yearly membership.Has any group or organization tried fighting the state on this matter. Regardless of the DEP i just can't see it being legal for the state to take money to allow people to use their atv's. Then deny them the right to use them.

If u care anything about riding in NJ,sign-up with NJOHVA for action alerts @ NJOHVAwww.njohva.org

We r currently fighting some bad legislation registration with no riding opportunity, very large fines with confiscation and forfieture, loss of lisence and more welcome to the republic of nj

Passes fixittMatt a few Wellbutrins an pops a few more myself while IM at it.I just saw in the paper they were suppose to Have 2 places up an running by 2005.Monroe was suppose to be in process of building something on a sand pit.The leasies of chatsworth want or had asked to extend the lease until the park was up an running an the board of trustees at chatsworth said forget it never will happen.Sounds like collusion it also said offorading an dirtbikes is a known an proven recreational hobby an were the only group thats treated like a bunch of outlaws an criminals. Its always dont have the land which is just crap because how many golf courses an housing acres are being bought up an no place to rideyup vote w your wallet when WV's economy is going off the map an NJ"s is going under(only matter of time) maybe things will change im not gonna hold my breath tho.

You know what's even more annoying? Atleast you guys in South Jersey have Chatsworth to go to! I live 50 miles from that! And when they close down NJORVP they're making another park... STILL IN SOUTH JERSEY! What about Central and Northern Jersey? We deserve one park each.

I live in Central New Jersey, if you live in Jersey and know of a cool place to ride please PM me or IM me

Just wanted to bring this back around because chatsworth is scheduled to close soon. Word around the park is the group in egg harbor who runs the agp races got a grant from the state and will probably open a park next year in that area. Don't know for sure thats just the rumor. As for the park in south jersey I think it's a no go. If your looking for a good place to ride in central jersey, you can always go to trenton and blaze the state house steps. that would be intersting to see on the news.
