Well, it's starting now .. we knew it was coming eventually but it's official ....

New ATV Regulations Unveiled - May 17, 2005

Government Services Minister Dianne Whalen has introduced measures designed to improve ATV Safety. Included is a ban on anyone under the age of 16 operating an adult-sized ATV. Children under 14 are prohibited from using any sized machine. The fee to register or to transfer ownership of an ATV is going up, from $20 to $50. The increase is to cover a new awareness campaign and to fund more visible license plates. In addition, fines for breaches of the new legislation, such as careless driving or not wearing a helmet, will be doubled. The penalty for driving while impaired, meanwhile, will rise to $1500 for a first offense.

Can you imagine a 6' tall 14 year old riding a raptor 80 ?????

It seems a bit bazzar to me as well. If everyone would keep to the basics and wear helmets, don't be riding with 3 or 4 people on one quad, and stay of the roads we wouldn't have any problems. But because of that now everyone has to suffer. I know my kid will still be riding his 50cc mini quad and he does it very safely

It's against the law to ride with a passenger unless the atv is a 2-up model. Anyone know how much the fine is for this? I'm going to continue riding until i get caught. I think this is a really stupid rule
