I have seen these "intake spacers" advertised on a few performance parts sites. They definitely seem like a cheap mod, they can be found on ebay for around 15 to 20 bux. However, are they worth the time to put on? Is there any noticeable improvement in performance?
I just pulled the carbs off of my 660R for rejetting, and well, it sucked. I still have them off, and ready to go back in. I noticed these spacers being advertised, and am just wondering if, while I have them off, putting them in would be of any benefit? Also, is it going throw off my air/fuel balance, so I have to go with different jet settings AGAIN?
If you take the time to port match everything together, you can straighten out the air flow into the head. Even without the spacer, if you can match the intake boots to the intake holes on the head, it will definately help.
check out bluetraxx.com if you haven't already.

Thanks for the reply. I have seen things around, but wasnt quite sure if there was even a noticeable difference using them. Most mechanics I have asked say it depends on the bike. If the bike is already heavily restricted, and mostly stock, you will notice something. If the bike is modded out, you may only see a small gain, if any at all.
