I have an '05 AC 500 with 150 miles. The last time I rode it a couple of weeks ago it ran fine. Now it starts fine, but as it warms up a little it continually dies and sometimes backfires. I took the carb off and inspected. It's clean as a whistle, no build up or trash. There didn't seem to be much fuel in the carb, but it may be normal. Fuel tank is almost full. What's up?
Sounds to me like it's not getting fuel. If your sure the jet's are clean and not gummed up I'd disconnect the fuel line and make sure fuel is getting through the petcock.
A buddy of mine has a 650AC. It started running crappy once warm. From what he described the dealer knew immediatly it was a problem with the automatic choke, and fixed it promptly.
