I saw a topic on engine breakin and I belive it is a good ideal to break in an engine properly. My question is how is an engine efected when the dealer moves the atv in and out of the shop day in and day out? I saw an atv on ebay that had around 30 miles that were put on in about a year and a half by moving it in and out of the store every day. Since it never reached operating tempreture would the engine ever be properly broken in?

Not sure what breaking it in "properly" means to you???

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

If it isn't broken in hard, the rings will never seat properly and it will always have low compression and be down on power. Plus, with improperly seated rings, it will pass fuel mixture past the rings (blow-by), and that will dilute out the oil with fuel contamination more quickly.

Around here (So. Calif.), they don't fill or charge the batteries or put oil in them until you have signed all the paperwork, so having them driving it in and out every day is not a problem. What do they do in your area????

If it has been started every day, pass it up because that engine will never be quite right!!!

Thats the way I broke in my brute, ran it hard, and it seems that every passing day the thing gets more power! It wheelies easier now then the day I brought it home.
