Looking for a tire that performs well in mud and has a decient ride on hard pack trails. Have owned 589 MTs and liked them, any other brands that you suggest.
Thanks for your help.

Tried the first set of mudlites when they first came out and haven't veered from them since.....definitely my preference. They are absolutely amazing in the mud (and snow) and smooth on hard pack. My only complaint is that when you do bury them in the mud, you are f*#@*@# stuck!

ill second the swamplites. great all arount tire. great on rocks, snow, hard pack, and i used to have the 589s and the swamplites do just as well as the 589s if not better for an all around tire. 589s are better for just mud though. swamplites arent showing much sign of wear either.

I love my ITP 589's for my riding up here in Alaska......A few friends have converted over from mudlights and XTR's after following me around a bit.

The only mud tires I ever had were Goodyear MudRunners. http://www.goodyearatv.com/cfm...tiredetail.cfm?serid=7 They had computer-aided design, instead of just someone drawing a sketch on a napkin and saying "this looks cool". They were great in mud, and smooth on the trails thanks to the way the pads ran right down the middle. You can get them as Run-Flats too. If I was going to do a lot of mud I would try Kenda Executioners. http://www.kendausa.com/atv/utility.html#executioner They look something like 589s with more space between the treads to clean out better. Right now I'm sticking with the stock 26" PXT Radials. Probably only 1% of my riding is in mud and the stock tires handle the ocassional mud pits with no problem.
