I just picked up a 1982 FL250 with a spare for parts. I want to turn this into a decent dune machine, since I sold my sport quad last summer. Bone stock, are they worth a darn in the sand? When I rebuild the engine, I'll probably go .040 over and install the spare pipe (DG) for it. That should wake it up a little.

I've never owned one of these before, so is it worth my time and money to prep it for the dunes? Im in Boise, so I'll probably take it to Steck Park (aka...the Litterbox) for trials, then to St A's if its any good.

Opinions?
